Writing

In preparation for Student Led Conferences next week, Third Graders spent the week working on Self Assessment in their own writing. Students were given the opportunity to look at writing pieces they’ve finished throughout the year and were asked to compare them to their most recent writing. Third Graders were able to point out so many of the areas in which they have improved. Some of the growth students immediately noticed included neatness of handwriting, proper grammar usage, and their storytelling ability. We are so lucky to get to watch all of them grow as students.

Reading

In reading this week, Third Graders worked on identifying cause and effect. Students used Asian animal texts to look for examples. Third Grade was so excited to continue to build on their research skills while taking notes of problems for their endangered animal study, as well solutions. Each student proudly stood to teach the class about all of the new information they had gathered!

Social Studies

Third Graders spent the week putting the final touches on their Asia Study Presentations. Students wrapped up speeches, built artifacts, placed their topics on a timeline, and finished painting our class model of China. Students even made some time for additional art projects to be included in our presentation. We are so proud of all of the hard work Third Graders put into our Asia study this trimester!
