The Cooper School Daily

Hello December !!!!!

Writing

This week in Writing Workshop, writers launched the art of information writing! Writers brainstormed topics that they know tons of information about. We created a Table of Contents for our writing and have started writing our chapters. We can’t wait to share these at a later date!!

Reading

Third Grade spent the week working on character studies in Reading Workshop. Students have discussed ways to get to know characters from patterns in behavior, speech, and predicting deeper theories as to why characters act and say the things they do. Students have been so excited to apply these skills to new characters as well as familiar friends.

Science

Third graders continued our new study of Environments and survival this week. We dug deeper and learned about what types of environments that different types of organisms can survive in. Third-graders studied the Pocket Gopher, Red Fox, Garter Snake, and the Red-Eyed Tree frog. Students even got to make inferences about earthworms. We are having so much fun with this new science Unit!
