Pass It On

This week we LOVED seeing students dressed up all ready to record their poems. They were so excited, not only to show off their best attire, but also to record their writings that they worked so hard on.

Filming went great and all of the children confidently looked at the camera and elicited their work loud and proud. While Pass It On looks different this year, the enthusiasm and joy was just the same. We cannot wait to share the video with you on May 7th!

Outdoor Break

While movement is a big part of The Cooper School curriculum, free outdoor play is just as important. Unstructured play allows children to explore, create and discover without predetermined guidelines. They have been extra creative this year, (due to the lack of having a play structure), and have made up a lot of fun games! The students have loved this time to freely move around with their friends, which helps them reset for their next classroom lesson.

Reading

Our Book Series Book Club unit has been going great! This week we have taken an in-depth look into the characters of our books and how this helps us predict what can happen in a story. After making their predictions, students read on to see if those predictions were right. They were so excited to discover that their predictions were correct!

We ended the week with comparing the relationships of the characters in their stories to the relationships they have in their own life. It was fun to hear their thoughts and listen to the dialogue that took place during their group time.
