3rd Grade News

Social Studies

Third Graders spent the week writing and revising their speeches for their Asia presentations. Students have been researching topics for about two weeks and have been excited to put all of their knowledge into action. Third Graders created timeline cards for each of their topics, to place on our class timeline. This timeline will show each of their topics, when they were introduced, and when they began to shape Chinese culture. Third Graders were very excited to begin crafting artifacts for their presentations!

Math

Third Graders spent the week wrapping up Unit 6 in Math. This week, we spent time introducing the Order of Operations. Students have been so excited to show off their skills in solving multi-step problems. We had so much fun discussing and creating new ways to remind us the order in which we solve complicated math problems!

Buddy Activities

Third Graders have spent the month of February focused on friendship! Each day, Third and Fourth Grade classes have mixed together to share Morning Meeting. Third Graders have also been assigned a buddy from Fourth Grade. Students eat lunch every day with their buddy, play together during recess, and have had a blast learning new things about each other.
