Math

This week in math students continued to study angles and rays. They used protractors to measure angles and applied their knowledge of measuring angles to classify them on classroom objects such as computers, pencil sharpeners, and clocks. They also learned that the hands of a clock will always form angles and they are acute, right, or obtuse depending on the time.

Reading

Our Fourth Grade students spent this week working on their book reports. Each student chose a book they have read and filled out a book review sheet on their selected novel that included writing an overview, answering questions, choosing three adjectives to describe the book, and choosing a quote from the book that they found interesting, intriguing, or inspiring. They also rated their books out of five stars and drew one of the characters.

Writing

Our students have continued to work on their literary essays in writing. At this time, they have chosen a prompt and outlined three separate arguments that support their claim. They then found evidence to support their arguments from the book’s contents.
