Proud Poets

Proud Poets
This week, students were eager for the opportunity to shine reading their Pass It On poems for the camera. Kindergarteners arrived donning their fanciest formal wear to proudly show off all of their new poetry skills. Leading up to this special day, students spent time practicing in partnerships, groups, and in front of the class to prepare for their big screen debut. These brave scholars have mastered projecting their voice and reading in front of an audience, which is pretty big work for a Kindergartener!

Charlotte’s Web
Students have spent this week joining Wilbur and Charlotte down on the farm. These brave scholars have applied all that they know about setting and characters to discuss our newest Read Aloud, all about the unlikely friendship between a spider and a pig. We have loved getting to share this timeless classic with our Kinderbuddies!

Crazy About Collage
Kindergarteners are carrying on their appreciation for Ezra Jack Keats’ collage illustrations by creating collages of their own in Centers this week. These creative collages made their way into our clothing study as students began designing clothing pieces by collaging different fabrics and paper cutouts to create their own unique fashion. We are loving their collage work so much that we’ve strung a classroom clothing line to display the magic!
