Peter and the Starcatcher
Third Grade thespians visited the Dock Street Theater on Tuesday for a showing of Peter and the Starcatcher. They got an exciting surprise when Mr. Atam appeared on stage as the pirate character, Smee! We laughed, gasped, and giggled with each other throughout the entire show. Charleston Stage continues to amaze us with their talent and we are so fortunate to collaborate with them each year at TCS. Students even got the chance to ask our resident theatre expert, Mr. Atam, all about acting in this production! Ask your child what their favorite part of Peter and the Starcatcher was!
Learning at the Science Fair!
Third Grade scholars had a chance to visit the Science Fair this week and learn from Fifth Grade scientists! Third Graders had the chance to observe each unique experiment created by Fifth Grade friends, and were thrilled to ask questions and learn all about the scientific process. Scholars made exciting discoveries about which kinds of countertops are least breakable, which kind of helmet can withstand the most pressure and which bug sprays are least flammable! Ask your Third Grader what they enjoyed the most about the Fifth Grade Science Fair.
Self-Assessment is Big Work!
Third Graders have spent a great deal of time creating, organizing and editing their documents for student led conferences next week! These young scholars have been doing the challenging work of self-reflecting and it has been a beautiful process to witness. Third Graders have had joyful moments celebrating their strengths and moments where they were able to identify areas that they need to improve and grow. They are thrilled to be doing the big work of leading a conference with you next week!
