A Magical First Week!

New Friends
Kindergarteners were so excited to spend the week meeting new friends, spending time with old friends, and learning how to navigate their new school. We were thrilled to see Kindergartners bravely make eye contact and greet their classmates each morning. Students have been so excited to hear from friends all about their lives as well as all of their favorite things. We can’t wait to continue to build strong bonds in our classroom, as well as with friends learning from home!

Math
Students kicked off their Kindergarten learning by comparing items to look for things that were the same, as well as things that are similar but different! We started our year with a very fun activity matching silly socks. Our young scholars were so proud to announce what qualities about the socks made them match, from their size, pattern, or color. They loved sorting the laundry and we really appreciated their help!

Our Classroom
Kindergarteners really blew us away this week as they soaked up all of the new rules and procedures of our classroom. Students quickly put into practice our silent signals for the bathroom, a tissue, water, a silent agreement with a friend, as well as just asking for help. Kindergarteners have mastered entering the classroom in the morning, unpacking their bags and getting started on their morning work. We are excited to see children continue to learn and grow!
