The Cooper School Daily

Approaching the Starting Line

We’re off to a great start at the Cooper School already this year! We were so happy to have the opportunity to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. Students had time to settle into their new advisory groups, practice class rotations, and set up their lockers. We established routines, rules, and expectations for the whole middle school community. We hope to all be on the same page to begin the year on a good foot!

As we dive deeper into the year, with our first full week, we will be working on a variety of “getting to know middle school” lessons. These lessons vary from organization, class expectations, getting to know the schedules and routes around the campus, and getting to know each other. With that being said, the students’ planners are a great tool to being organized. Please be sure your students have their planners with them on Monday, along with their allergy forms, technology forms, and field trip forms so that we can sort through them and begin to file the necessary paperwork.

Our Advisory time will continue to guide students to become stronger citizens and friends, build confidence, and learn how to cope and navigate in a world that can often be confusing and overwhelming.

This week, we had a chance to begin a new tradition for the First Week of TCS Middle School for team building…MS Olympics! The students had an opportunity to compete in shoe races, paper airplane competitions using aeronautical design, blindfolded basketball, and a one-footed yoga balance challenge. Please enjoy pictures from the games below:
