April Showers Bring May Flowers

All of the hard work we did in April is bringing joy and happiness to the middle school students this first full week in May! Spread the Word, projects, quizzes, presentations, math tests, and high school acceptances showered TCS in April. However, the beginning of May has been filled with laughter, community, and fun.

What’s Going On?

The sixth and seventh graders have been in Orlando all week! They had an opportunity to visit Disney, go on a safari tour, and more! They will begin their ERB testing next week, along with the eighth graders.

While the sixth and seventh graders were off campus, the fifth and eighth graders have been hanging out with Ms. Lindsay and Mr. Kevin. While the fifth graders were working diligently on their ERB testing, the eighth graders were learning about life skills, such as budgeting, resume writing, and other important life skills.

Tuesday, the eighth and fifth graders headed off campus to Hampton Park for a picnic lunch. We had a chance to feed the ducks, climb trees, run amongst the flowers, and just enjoy each other’s company. Thursday, we headed to Demeter Park on James Island, also known as Sunrise Park, or Shark’s Tooth Park. We enjoyed the gorgeous panoramic view of Charleston Harbor from the beach, while we looked for shark teeth and talked about the school year.

Next week, the fifth graders will be off the Green River Preserve for their annual mountain hiking trip. They are so excited to take a break from school, but also to have quality time with each other before the summer time arrives. They will also have Field Day planning to look forward to when they get back to school the following week!
