Band Practice!

Oceans and Continents

Our First Grader’s have become proper discoverers and have used their resources to be able to correctly identify and label all seven continents and five oceans. Our classroom has been filled with songs about the world and maps. Ask your First Grader today to sing you the Continent Song! We love watching our students learn about the geography of the world around them.

Reading Fluency

Our First Grade readers have been hard at work strengthening their reading skills this year. Our new reading unit focuses on reading fluency. Our First Graders have blown us away with how diligently they have practiced speed, accuracy and proper expression in their reading. We are watching our friends build skills that will help them become lifelong readers.

Play, Play, Play

An important part of our day at The Cooper School is our outdoor break time. Our students spend two snack breaks and part of their lunch time engaging in play with one another and other classes in our Cooper School community. We know that play helps our scholars develop their imagination and physical and emotional strength. It is amazing watching our friends engage and interact with the world around them as a cohesive group. This week our friends’ love of play showed itself through games like Four-Square, exploring the play structure and even starting a band!
