100 Days of School
We loved celebrating the 100th Day of School and can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by! We enjoyed cheering on our kindergarteners dressed up as the best 100-year-olds we’ve ever seen. After the parade, second graders took part in a fun and meaningful 100th Day activity by creating and building with 100 LEGO pieces. Students worked together in groups to create and build anything they wanted using a 100 LEGO pieces, where the only rule was to have no leftover pieces. This activity encouraged strong communication skills, careful listening, respect for others’ ideas, and thoughtful problem-solving. These are the skills our students will need as they continue to learn, grow, and work together to help build Cooper Village into a caring and collaborative community

Guest Experts Galore!
We LOVED having the police department visit our classroom. Officer Marotta, Moy, and Capell joined us and walked us through a day in the life of a police officer. Each officer shared with us their specific role in our community and the steps they took to achieve their specialty. They shared their equipment with us and even let us try some on. We were blown away by how heavy the shield and helmet were. Students enjoyed asking the officers questions and spending time with them. We thank Officer Marotta, Moy, and Capell for taking time out of their day to speak with us.
We also LOVED having Dr. Peter Sciarrino and Tyler Sciarrino visit our class to talk all about being a dentist and dental hygienist! We learned the best ways to take care of our teeth and gums, and what a dentist does every day. We also learned how important it is to have a dentist and a dental hygienist in our community! Without the help of a dentist, we would not have healthy gums or strong teeth! Thank you, Dr. Peter, and Tyler Sciarrino, for teaching us all about the health of our mouths!

Approaching February
As we get ready for February, we are excited for Valentine’s Day! To celebrate Valentine’s Day, it is a Cooper School tradition for students to write compliment books. We enjoy taking time to think of all the reasons our classmates make us smile and feel supported. Students have been thinking of specific compliments and writing them in letter format for each of their classmates. We can’t wait to share them in a couple of weeks!
