Celebrating Our Informational Writing!
This week, our third-grade authors wrapped up their Art of Information Writing unit with a special celebration! They had the opportunity to read their published books to the first graders, sharing their expertise on topics they are passionate about. We love when different grades come together at TCS and support each other’s hard work. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to be both a writer and a reader in a community of learners!

Exploring Japanese Culture!
Our Asia study continues, and this week, we focused on different aspects of Japanese culture, including transportation, shelter, and food. Students were especially fascinated by the idea of traveling to Japan for a “quick field trip” on the bullet train! They imagined what it would be like to experience the speed and efficiency of Japan’s Shinkansen system. From traditional houses to delicious meals like sushi and ramen, we’ve been discovering so many unique and exciting aspects of life in Japan.

Fractions in Action!
In math, our third-grade mathematicians have been diving into fractions! We’ve been playing games and building fractions from unit fractions to deepen our understanding of how parts make up a whole. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, students are beginning to see fractions as more than just numbers—they’re part of the world around us! It’s been exciting to watch them make connections and develop confidence in this new concept.
