First Grade Researchers!

This week First Graders have been filling their minds with bug facts!  We have learned so much about each of our insects’ habitats, body parts, life cycles, diets, and what makes each insect unique. Students have eagerly begun researching their insects using both iPads and text resources.  We love how excited they are to share their discoveries with their friends!

Math Fun

This week in math our mathematicians reviewed some of our math skills. Scholars practiced solving story problems and equations. We also had a blast playing Capture the Square, where students used dice to create different addition facts. Ask your scholar what their favorite part of math was this week!

Read Aloud

First graders have loved our daily read alouds of the Mercy Watson series by Kate DiCamillo. Mercy Watson is a butter and toast loving porcine wonder and our super readers can’t get enough! This week, first graders finished their last book of the series but quickly checked out copies to read independently during our independent reading time. We have now started Mrs. Piggle Wiggle by Betty MacDonald!
