A New Year of Fun !

One Word

Each year at The Cooper School we forgo resolutions and instead help students choose “One Word” to focus on for the year. The “One Word” choice allows you to pick a word that can be applied to many aspects of life and be used as a guide for the year. It sets the intention for actions, thoughts, and interactions. First Graders have done a wonderful job of brainstorming words and choosing “One Word” that has meaning to them. They have explained why they chose their word and how it can apply to many aspects of their lives. Ask your child what word they chose.

Arctic Fun

Scholars were ecstatic to kick off our Arctic study this week! Over the next few weeks, students will dive deep into learning about amazing Arctic animals. Each scholar will research a specific animal and explore its habitat, diet, body features, and unique adaptations. We will also be learning about the Inuit people and their life in the Arctic. We can’t wait to share all the exciting things we discover during this unit!

Winter Shares

First graders were so excited to be back at school and share all the fun they had over winter break. Scholars took turns talking about their vacations, special memories, and the presents they received for Christmas. We also drew pictures and wrote short stories about our experiences. While everyone enjoyed their time off, we were all so happy to be back together with our classroom family!
