A Week of Adventure!

Dragons Love Tacos
This week, Kindergarteners hopped on The Cooper School bus to head to the Dock Street Theater to see their production of Dragons Love Tacos. Kindergarteners were so excited to practice their audience etiquette! We were so impressed by the actors, their costumes, and the incredible props used onstage. It was also pretty exciting to recognize some of the actors from their visits to our classroom.

The Fun & Fancy World of Figurative Language
This week, Kindergarteners investigated a figurative language device known as alliteration. Alliteration is when a specific letter sound is repeated in the beginning of several words. Kindergarten poets listened to poems read with alliteration and even created their own alliteration as they wrote poetry. Kindergarten poets know that using figurative language devices helps to lift their poems up a notch!

Celebratory Movie!
Kindergarteners were so excited (and a little sad) to finish up Charlotte’s Web. Students fell in love with this beautiful tale of friendship. To celebrate, students were so excited to get to see Charlotte and Wilbur on screen. Kindergarteners loved seeing some of their favorite parts from the book almost as much as they loved pointing out the things that were changed for the movie!
