Dear Friend,
Stand Tall and Proud
Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Simple pleasures
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!
Cheers to another school year! Good luck to our graduates!

Math:
This week, 6th graders wrapped up their unit 8 review and took their final math test on Tuesday. Next week, we’ll play some fun math games and complete some mini projects in between our trip to Top Golf and planning for field day!
ELA:
When I was able to see 6th grade this week after administering tests, we took time to set reading/writing goals for the summer and finish our cursive writing workbooks. We reflected on all we’ve learned so far this year, and discussed what books and writing pieces stood out this school year.
Next week, 6th will guest read with some lower grades, take part in fun-writes to celebrate the end of the year, and enjoy a read aloud as a class!
Social Studies:
Sixth graders worked hard this week on their research papers, it has been a long process and I’m extremely impressed with their dedication to their topics. With me in Washington DC and the paper due on the 20th, I have decided we have not had enough time to prepare for the final exam so we are not going to be having one.
Science:
The sixth graders prepared for and took their last science test of the year this week! They executed their last lab, which was a memory test using mirrors, to learn about metacognition. The sixth graders are definitely ready for seventh grade science! They have worked diligently this year and are prepared for a rigorous curriculum next year!
