Math:
This week 8th graders began the construction of their rockets before they headed out to DC. I’m hopeful we can launch next week or early the following week in between our trips to Top Golf and Folly, and planning for Field Day!
ELA:
This week, after I completed test administration with 7th grade, 8th grade participated in some small high school ELA prep sessions with me. We also discussed our summer reading/writing goals!
Next week, we will take part in a miniature humorist and satire study – extending from our viewing of Some Like it Hot, we’ll read some humorists and attempt our own version of satire!
Social Studies:
The eighth graders did a wonderful job on their research paper! We have begun editing them and will be finishing them next week. With us going to Washington DC and not enough time, I also cancelled the final exam since they’ve been working so hard on their papers.
Science:
Eighth graders took their last science test this week! It is so hard to believe that they are moving on in a couple weeks. I will say, they are definitely prepared for high school science! I am so excited to hear about what they are learning about next year.
