Artists of the Month!

Little Poets
Poetry is EXPLODING in Kindergarten! These brave writers have been so busy looking at the world through the eyes of poets. This week, our young writers discovered ways to lift the level of the poems they write by including various types of figurative language. Poets experimented with alliteration, onomatopoeia and similes in the poems they wrote.

Addition To Teens
This week, students built on their knowledge and understanding of teen numbers by breaking them down into addition problems. These brave mathematicians noticed a pattern when decomposing teen numbers! Kindergarteners know that 10 + a number below ten will give you a teen number with that digit in it! (10 + 7 =17) Rock on, mathematicians!

Artist of the Month
Kindergarteners were so excited to welcome family and friends to their art show this week to show off some of the work that they have completed with Ms. Henslee this year. Our library was covered wall-to-wall with student art! Kindergarteners walked guests around to take a peek at their self portraits and pieces inspired by Alma Thomas. We are so proud of our little artists!
