Author Study Project
This week, our first-grade scholars truly wowed us with their incredible Author Study Presentations! From reading books to discovering fun facts about their authors’ lives and writing styles, scholars showed so much dedication, creativity, and excitement throughout this special project.We were so impressed by the beautiful reimagined book covers that our first graders designed and created. Scholars used their imaginations to give their favorite stories brand-new looks through colorful artwork, thoughtful details, and creative ideas.Our first graders also showed so much bravery and confidence as they recorded their book reviews on camera. Scholars spoke clearly about the books they read, shared their favorite parts, and explained why others should read them too. We loved seeing their personalities shine through during our “Reading Rainbow” style book reviews! We are beyond proud of all the effort, teamwork, creativity, and courage our scholars put into this exciting presentation.
Music, Art & Yoga
This week was our last week of some of our favorite special classes of the school year! Scholars loved reflecting on all of the fun activities they experienced, especially singing and making music together in music class. We also enjoyed watching the wonderful third-grade movie project that the older scholars worked so hard to create.First graders had their final yoga class with Mrs. Stacy and had so much fun sharing their favorite yoga poses and stretches. It was also our last art class of the year, and scholars talked about all of the exciting techniques and creative projects they learned throughout the year in art.We are so proud of all the creativity, movement, and joy our first graders brought to specials this year. We can’t wait to see all of the exciting experiences and new adventures that next year’s specials will bring!
Crafts and More
Our scholars have been feeling extra crafty lately and have been diving deep into creating their very own comic books! Throughout the week, students explored many different creative centers where they designed bracelets, necklaces, and other fun crafts. First graders were especially excited to bring out the tinker cart and use all of the exciting tools and materials inside to build and create unique designs.Scholars used their imaginations, creativity, and problem-solving skills to make one-of-a-kind projects. One of their favorite activities was creating funny and imaginative comic books using special comic book paper. Students came up with silly characters, exciting adventures, and creative storylines that made everyone smile and laugh.
