Be our Valentine!

Happy Valentine’s Day

At The Cooper School, it is a beloved tradition for each student to write a heartfelt compliment for every one of their classmates. These thoughtful messages are compiled into compliment books for students to keep forever. It’s always wonderful to see how much students grow in their ability to give sincere, detailed compliments each year. Our third graders put so much care into their words, showing just how much they appreciate and support one another. It has been a warm and love-filled few weeks in our classroom. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Knowing Yourself

As part of our Asia study, we took time this week to reflect inward and share meaningful aspects of our own cultures and family values. We explored the idea that culture is like a tree—the leaves and branches represent the visible parts, like clothing, celebrations, and food, while the roots symbolize the deeper, unseen aspects, such as beliefs, values, and traditions. Just like trees, our cultures grow and change over time, but our roots keep us grounded. Students have begun designing and decorating their own Culture Trees to represent their personal identities, and we’re looking forward to sharing them during our upcoming presentation.

Growing Yourself

Over the next couple of weeks, third graders will take time to reflect on their learning journey this year. By looking back at their work from the beginning of third grade and comparing it to what they are accomplishing now, they will see just how much they have grown. Whether in writing, reading, math, or beyond, it’s always a joy to witness their excitement and pride in their progress. We can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and all they’ve accomplished so far!
