Busy First Graders !

Author Study

This week in writing, our first-grade scholars dove deeper into learning about their authors. They conducted research to discover how their authors grew up, where they attended school, and what sparked their interest in becoming writers. Scholars carefully reviewed their findings and underlined the most important facts. Our first graders were incredibly enthusiastic about uncovering these exciting details, and we can’t wait to share their work with you at the upcoming presentation!

All About Time

This week in math, our first-grade scholars explored the concept of time. They learned the difference between analog and digital clocks and practiced identifying the hour and minute hands. Students examined pictures of clocks and worked together to tell the time. They also practiced telling time to the half hour and sequencing times in order. We are having so much fun learning all about time!

Crafty Scholars

First graders put on their crafty gloves this week as they hand-painted and designed colorful beads to create beautiful necklaces. Scholars worked hard to make special jewelry pieces for the important grown-ups in their lives for Mother’s Day. Students carefully picked their favorite colors and added extra wooden beads to make each necklace unique. We know your scholar cannot wait to gift their handmade creation and see the smiles and love it brings!
