Third graders have been working so hard in anticipation for their changemakers presentation, and it’s finally here!
Social Studies
After weeks of hard work, our students have perfected their changemaker’s research and presentation skills to share who inspires them. Third graders have chosen historical figures that have changed the world and become experts about their lives and accomplishments. Students have worked diligently researching and writing about their changemakers lives and accomplishments, and how they’re accomplishments inspire our students to change the world themselves! Now that students have compiled all of their research into beautiful works of art, they are preparing to present it to the world!
Word Work
Third graders are actively building their spelling and word work skills through a variety of activities. They sort words by patterns, sounds, or meanings, helping them recognize connections and improve their spelling. Along with learning their words, they practice forming sentences with their new vocabulary, reinforcing grammar and their spelling context. Students are also still working on their handwriting practice, as they work on forming letters clearly and consistently.
Specials
Students have been having a wonderful time in their special classes to further enrich their minds, bodies and attitudes. In music, the class is still brainstorming and fine tuning ideas and songs for their play that will debut in the spring. The class has been learning a plethora of new words in Spanish, this week they focused on types of clothes such as; “la falda” or “mi camiseta”. Third graders are also enjoying learning mindfulness and breathing techniques in yoga, as well as new basketball skills in PE.
