What a great Presentation by the 4th grade class! This news crew is the best in the Lowcountry!
How do journalists settle disagreements? They have a βPRESSβ conference ππ
Math
This week in math the 4th graders learned about using fractions for real world application. This included measuring ingredients, stacks of coins, and sticky notes. They connected two-step word problems with visuals such as diagrams and equations. The 4th graders used logic and teamwork to solve complex problems with real world scenarios.
PE
This week in PE was a little unconventional for the fourth graders due to the rainy weather. The rain did not stop the fourth graders from having a good time indoors, instead they played 3 fun games which were called, In and Out, Heads Shoulders, Knees Cones, and Ball Pass. Each game required listening skills in order for the fourth graders to be successful while playing.
Journalism
Fourth Graders wrapped up their Journalism Unit this week with a guest expert, field trip, and presentation! First, Robert Behre, Cooper parent and Post and Courier journalist, came to talk to the students about the importance of reporting the facts and providing the community with the news. He then joined on a trip to the Post and Courier printing press to learn about how all that reporting gets printed each day. Students were full of questions and excited to see the printing press in action! Finally, students presented all their hard work to parents with their very own newspaper and news show!
