Eighth Grade

Our final week was filled with spirit, laughter, celebration, and joy. Ms. Amanda held our final middle school meeting on Tuesday and led a discussion around the importance of celebration. Not just the big things like the end of the school year, good grades, or new friends, but also the small things. Some specific examples I heard on Tuesday of things we’re celebrating:

  1. Finishing the cross country season
  2. Getting into a theater program
  3. Making my own food at home
  4. Meeting Adam Sandler (yes, for real)
  5. Getting into Magnet for high school

Celebrating small things and big things alike continues to send signals to our brain to look for the good things in life – they’re everywhere if we take the time to look for them! This week, we celebrated our school year by planning field day, watching Night at the Museum after our trip to the Charleston Museum, signing year books, and participating in spirit week.

This year has truly been such a special year – from new projects, new teachers, new curriculums, and new clubs and electives to old friends, old teachers, and old routines, we’ve created such a unique bond. Getting to know and grow with each of your kids has truly been such a privilege, and I know I can speak for all of the middle school teachers when I say we’re going to miss them all dearly this summer. To those moving on to new adventures, we’re proud of you and so confident that you’ll absolutely thrive wherever you land. To those we’ll see next year, we’re so excited to reconnect in August with some new and exciting advancements in the middle school!

Have a great summer!

Love,

Allison, Amanda, Kevin, Maggie, Rives, and Riley
