First Graders have been buzzing with excitement as they work on their Insect projects, plan for future field trips, and get ready for Halloween! Spooky season is in full swing!
First Grade Researchers!
This week First Graders have been filling their minds with bug facts! We have learned so much about each of our insects’ habitats, body parts, life cycles, diets, and what makes each insect unique. Students have eagerly begun researching their insects using both Ipads and text resources. We love how excited they are to share their discoveries with their friends!
First Grade Mathematicians!
First Graders have put on their detective hats to solve all kinds of word problems and unknown addends. They loved practicing creating math equations and solving for the unknown by playing, “What’s behind my back?” with unifix cubes of 8 and 10. They love practicing math skills with fun games with friends!
We Read with Expression!
First Graders have been wowing us with their reading fluency and confidence! This week students focused on how to read with expression! We learned how much more exciting a book can be when you use your acting skills to read. We practiced looking at text, font features, and punctuation to help us. Ask your child to show off their expressive reading at home!
