First Grade Fun !!

What Does the Data Tell Us?

This week, First Grade turned into a team of mini researchers! We surveyed each other about our favorite foods and sports, then turned the results into colorful graphs and charts. Why all the data? Because asking questions, finding patterns, and sharing ideas helps us think like mathematicians and makes learning way more fun when it’s about things we love!

Insect Study Begins!

Our first grade entomologists jumped right into our insect study this week! We learned the features that define an insect and where different insects may be found.  We had a blast working with partners to locate, observe and record as many insects as we could on the playground. We challenge you to do the same in your backyard as we continue to learn more about the different kinds of insects around us!

Cooper Cluster Kicks Off

On Wednesday, we gathered for our first Cooper Clusters lunch of the year! These mixed-grade groups—spanning Kindergarten through 8th grade—help build connection and community across our school. Students shared pizza, made creative banners for their clusters, and played fun games while getting to know friends from different grades. We can’t wait to see how these relationships grow throughout the year!
