Fourth graders have had another great week, growing, learning, and working hard!
Math
This week, our students have been working on learning weight conversions and multiplicative comparison. They’ve been practicing how to convert weights between different units, like ounces and pounds, to understand how they relate to one another. For example, they’ve learned that eight pints are in a gallon. They are also exploring multiplicative comparisons, where they compare two quantities by figuring out how many times one is as much as the other. This helps them build a stronger foundation in both math and real-world problem-solving. We’re excited to see how they apply these skills in everyday situations!

Social Studies
Fourth graders have been loving Greek mythology! This week, students have been researching heroes and villains from ancient stories. They’ve been exploring the adventures of famous heroes like Hercules, Perseus, and Theseus, who faced incredible challenges and monsters to protect others and prove their courage. At the same time, they’ve been discovering the villains, like Medusa and the Minotaur, who stood in the way of the heroes’ success. Through these myths, students are learning valuable lessons about bravery, teamwork, and the consequences of choices. We’re excited to see them connect these ancient tales to themes that are still relevant today! Students were also lucky enough to have guest experts, our 8th graders from middle school, come in and give presentations to deepen their understanding of famous myths.
