You Got Mail
This week, we kicked off our brand-new letter-writing unit, and our scholars are already off to an amazing start! We began by writing letters to our beloved classroom pet, Banana, which helped us practice using the important parts of a friendly letter,an opening, a detailed message, and a thoughtful closing.Scholars also had the chance to draw a classmate’s name and write a special letter just for them. It has been such a joy watching them learn how to communicate with care, kindness, and clear purpose. We are loving this unit so far! Ask your scholar to write you a letter, they would be thrilled to share their new skills at home.

Grammar Power
This week we dove deeper into our grammar unit, with a strong focus on nouns and verbs. Scholars have been busy identifying nouns all around our classroom and spotting verbs by looking for actions happening inside and outside. We even wrote sentences that used both grammar tools together! Ask your scholar to show off their growing grammar power, they have learned so much!
Show & Tell
Our first graders brought in some truly incredible items to share with the class this week! Scholars were ecstatic to show off their fascinating finds. We had the chance to examine real snake skin, explore unique deer antlers, observe a bear’s jaw, and so much more. We love seeing our scholars show bravery and excitement as they bring in treasures from home and confidently share them with their classmates!

Acts Of kindness
We started our Gratitude Chain this week, and it will take us all the way to winter break! Each day, one scholar gets to pull a loop from the chain. Inside every loop is a special act of kindness they can do to show gratitude. Ask your scholar which acts of kindness they completed this week ,they’ve been spreading so much warmth and joy!
