As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we want to celebrate the growth, achievements, and memories we’ve made together. Spring brings new energy—and our students are finishing strong! Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Some of our students wanted to share some of their favorite memories that have led up to Spring:

Math:
This week, 7th graders reviewed for and took their Unit 7 test on Tuesday before diving into Unit 8 in which we derive, practice, and apply the Pythagorean Theorem. Next week, we’ll prove the Pythagorean Theorem and find out what happens when we get an irrational solution.
ELA:
7th grade readers continued reading The Book Thief this week, developing theories about the theme and unpacking deeper meanings behind double entendres, irony, diction, and humor in this experimental story. We also took part in grammar and ERB skills review as we approach the end of the year!
After break, 7th graders will finish The Book Thief. Please be reminded that their journal response pages will be due by April 25th.
Social Studies:
Seventh graders are now getting ready for their final test on Antebellum America next Wednesday, the 16th. The study guides have been given out and can also be found on Google Classroom. They have also been working on their research papers. I am truly impressed with how quickly they have picked up how to research and outline a historical paper. We will continue with this next week as well.
Science:
Seventh graders explored kinetic energy this week. They experimented with different temperatures of water to see how the energy transfer impacted the temperature of the water when mixed. They considered how warmer particles have more kinetic energy compared to cooler particles, which would have less kinetic energy, relatively. The seventh graders also started working on an interactive periodic table, which they will work on over the next few weeks. Next week, they will learn about mixtures, and the various ways they can be separated.
