Off to Cypress Gardens!

Our First Field Trip!
As part of our study of the Needs of Plants and Animals, Kindergarteners were so excited to load up on The Cooper School buses and head to Cypress Gardens this week. Students got the opportunity to investigate their Butterfly House, Swamparium and Nature Trail to witness and talk about the animals’ habitats. Excitement was in the air and we had so much fun exploring wildlife.

Mystery Reader
We were so excited to welcome our first Mystery Reader this week! Caught completely by surprise, Kindergarteners received a special visit from one of their parents with a book in hand. After 3 clues, students were able to solve the mystery and welcome our guest, who just so happened to have Happy Pig Day! in hand. So many students told us later that this visit was their ‘apple’, the sweetest part of their day!

Reading Buddies
This week our youngest readers were introduced to a cozy Cooper School tradition, Reading Buddies! Students spent time this week getting to read with our First Grade friends. The First Grade class joined us this week to pair up and read with Kinderbuddies. We loved getting to watch students learn new names, make new friends, and show off all of their own reading skills. Most buddies already knew each other from all of our time spent together on the playground! We are so grateful for our community with such a strong sense of community!
