Practicing Poets
This week, students were eager for the opportunity to shine while reading their Pass It On poems for their classmates. Leading up to this special day, students spent time practicing in partnerships, groups, and in front of the class to prepare for their exciting moment on stage. These brave scholars have mastered projecting their voice and reading in front of an audience, which is pretty big work for a Kindergartener! We can’t wait for you to hear the work of these amazing poets on May 9th at our Pass It On poetry presentation.
Tumbling To The End of the Year
We could not wait to hop on The Cooper School bus this week to head to West Ashley Gymnastics. Kindergarteners were delighted to work in groups, dance, tumble, and climb through ninja courses. Every single student was fully active for an entire hour! We loved seeing children bond, bounce, and boogie while celebrating all of their hard work and friendships this school year.
How To Be A Kindergartener: A Puppet Show
Students were so excited to welcome the incoming Kindergarten class to The Cooper School this week with a puppet show. Our puppet study wrapped up with a final presentation giving tips and suggestions to new students of How To Be A Kindergartener. With only three weeks left in their Kindergarten journey, our almost first graders showed off all of their presentation skills, puppet mastery, and confidence to embrace their new peers! We were so proud of all of their big-kid growth, work, and leadership.
