Mealworm Observation
First graders are so excited about their mealworms arriving in the classroom. We’ve spent the past week making close observations as they begin their cycle of metamorphosis. Students have each received their own Mealworm Observation Journal, in which they write in detail about each life cycle stage. This week, we were also introduced to our ant farm. Scholars are enjoying learning about the life cycle of an ant.
Solving Story Problems
First Grade mathematicians have spent this week solving story problems and playing math games that focus on writing equations. While solving story problems, students take notice of what they know and what they need to find out and then use different strategies to solve the unknown with a matching numerical expression. We are so proud of their hard work!
Thank You Charleston Stage
We want to give a huge thank you to the amazing members of Charleston Stage for spending another week with us! First graders had a blast learning all the tools needed to become an actor. Ask your child their favorite thing they learned this week from Charleston Stage!
