Shapes & More
This week in math, scholars took a deeper dive into our study of shapes. They explored the differences between rectangles, triangles, and squares, noticing how each shape has a unique number of sides and corners. Using dot paper, scholars drew and compared these shapes, which helped them clearly see their similarities and differences. They also practiced explaining why certain shapes do not belong in the same group, using their understanding of shape attributes. First graders are truly enjoying becoming shape experts!

This week in writing, scholars continued exploring our Author Study and book review unit. Each scholar was assigned an author and selected a book by that author to review. They created thoughtful book review plans, rating their books and providing clear reasons to support their star ratings. Scholars also worked on crafting engaging reviews that encourage others to read the books they chose. We are thoroughly enjoying this unit and look forward to diving even deeper into our work as thoughtful readers and reviewers!

Art Night
We are incredibly proud of our first graders and the dedication they showed in preparing their artwork for Art Night! Scholars were thrilled to showcase their creations to the entire TCS community, sharing their hard work with family and friends. It was wonderful to see so many loved ones come together throughout our campus to celebrate the creativity and talent displayed by students across all grade levels. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support our young artists, we truly appreciate it!
