Spring Weather!

Using Our Senses
This week, Kindergarteners relied on their five senses for inspiration in poetry. Students considered their many experiences with sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste to put some of their thoughts into words. We took moments to listen for sounds in nature, our classroom, as well as soundscapes of different places and environments. Kindergarteners left us inspired with the beautiful ways they experience our world!

Numbers to 20
Brave mathematicians have been working hard identifying and using partner numbers that make 10. As these numbers have gotten easier for students, Kindergarteners started working to identify teen numbers using 10-frames! Students also used number grids this week to identify patterns in double digit numbers, counting tools to work out problems, and practiced writing numbers 11-20. We are very proud of the number knowledge in our classroom!

Artist Statements
Excitement is building for our upcoming Art Night event next month! This week, students worked with Ms. Henslee to put the finishing touches on their work as well as write Artist Statements! In these statements, students got the opportunity to describe their thoughts and feelings behind their work and why they chose to do it. We can’t wait to give you all a peek!
