Preparing for Pass It On
Our scholars have been thoughtfully preparing for Pass It On, the final event of our poetry project, where each TCS student will share one of their original poems on stage. In the lead-up to this special evening, students have been practicing speaking clearly and confidently, projecting their voices and using expressive language to convey emotion and meaning. We look forward to celebrating their hard work and creativity together next week.
First Grade Explores Measurement
Our first graders have been diving into the world of measurement in a hands-on and engaging way! This week, they worked in small groups to explore the classroom, measuring the lengths of various objects using linking cubes. First graders compared sizes and practiced using non-standard units of measurement. This fun and collaborative activity helped build their understanding of length while encouraging teamwork, observation, and problem-solving skills.
First Graders Visit the Hurd/St. Andrews Library
Our first graders recently took a special field trip to the Hurd/St. Andrew’s Library as part of their ongoing author study. During their visit, students had the opportunity to explore the library, learn more about the featured author they’ve been studying, and discover how libraries help us find and enjoy books. It was a fun and enriching experience that sparked curiosity and deepened their love for reading!
