Studious First Graders !

Numbers at Work!

This week in math, our first graders have been building a strong understanding of tens and ones. Scholars practiced counting by tens and ones and representing numbers in different ways using pictures, drawings, and hands-on math manipulatives. They worked hard to show their thinking by creating numbers with base-ten blocks and connecting those models to the digits they write.Students were also excited to explain their learning! Scholars shared how they know what each number represents by using their knowledge of the counting sequence and place value.. We are so proud of the growth we are seeing in their math thinking!

Into The Artic

This week, we continued our exciting Arctic study! Scholars explored a variety of books about different Arctic animals and learned fun facts about how they survive in such a cold environment. We also looked closely at the continents where some of our Arctic animals live and discovered how animals can be found in different parts of the world.First graders had a wonderful time creating and coloring their very own Arctic books, where they shared what they learned through pictures and writing. In addition, scholars took a deeper look at the Inuit people of the Arctic Circle and learned about their traditions, daily life, and how they adapt to the cold climate. We are so proud of all the learning that has taken place and can’t wait to share even more of the exciting things we have discovered as our Arctic study continues!

Pizza & Friends

Students were so excited to kick off 2026 with our first cluster day of the year! We enjoyed sharing pizza and spending time playing games outdoors with our cluster friends. Scholars loved catching up, laughing together, and talking about all the fun things they did over the break. It was a wonderful way to reconnect and build our community. We can’t wait for our next cluster day!
