What better way for 4h grade to start the week than taking a field trip to the bank! 🤑
What did the dollar say to the quarter? “You don’t make much CENTS”. 🤣
Journalism
This week, in our journalism unit, the 4th-grade classes interviewed the middle school teachers, students, and some administration members to collect information on their selected topics. The up-and-coming journalist asked great questions and received some excellent answers to add to their notes. They also took a deep dive into a newspaper to find ideas to incorporate into the TCS newspaper.
Music
This week in music, the 4th-grade class jammed with their ukuleles in the outdoor classroom. They worked on the songs This Land Is Your Land and You Are My Sunshine, which are classics. They continue to grow their skills by learning when to tune their ukuleles, what cord to play and how to read the music.
Math
This week in math, the students started working with measurements on a ruler. They learned about the whole marks, ½ inch (in), ¼ in, and ⅛ in marks. They know how to plot data and interpret the measured or given data. The 4th graders measured colored pencils and wrote the data on a line plot with their partners. They then applied this to answering questions requiring them to use their addition and subtraction of fractions skills.
Why are snakes measured in inches? “Because they don’t have FEET”
