Waste Free Lunch
Our Third Graders have been busy writing persuasive letters to their parents and the TCS community! They’re learning that their voices can make a real difference and have chosen a cause close to their hearts- creating a waste-free lunch and snack at TCS. To kick off their efforts, Third Graders will come together on Wednesday, October 15th to enjoy waste-free snacks and lunch as a class. Afterwards, they’ll share their writing to encourage the elementary, middle, and greater TCS community to join them in a day of waste free lunch and snacks. Their one small step is already creating a big ripple, and we can’t wait to see how their ideas continue to grow!

Growing our Garden
Third Graders have been busy caring for our hydroponic gardens, both inside the classroom and outside on campus! They’re learning how plants can grow strong and healthy without soil and are proudly tending to tomatoes, strawberries, dragon beans, green beans, squash, cucumbers, cauliflower, and more! Each week, students take on the special job of “gardener,” checking water levels, pruning plants, and watching for new growth. Everyone looks forward to our taste tests, where students get to enjoy the fresh produce they’ve helped grow. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement, curiosity, and sense of responsibility blossom right along with our garden!

Multiplication Matters
In Math, students are continuing to strengthen their multiplication facts and build confidence with quick recall. They’re also exploring how multiplication connects to real-world concepts, like finding the area of shapes. Through hands-on activities and visual models, students are discovering how rows and columns of equal groups relate to area, helping them see multiplication in brand-new ways!
