We Are Engineers!

We Are Engineers
Kindergarteners have spent the week helping to protect Penny, a puppy in need of some shade in the hot summer sun! Students are reading a case study about siblings, Amir and Maya, and their attempts to engineer a structure for their dog. Students know that engineers Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and then Improve to make it better! Kindergarteners spent this week sorting through and deciding which materials were ideal for building. Students can’t wait to begin construction!

Math: Year In Review
This week, Kindergarteners revisited some old math skills we have practiced to piece all of our learning from the year together. Students showed us all that they remember about counting and comparing, numbers to 20, addition and subtraction. We are so proud of Kindergarten mathematicians for all of their hard work this year! We can’t wait to see how they use their skills in First Grade.

Our Last Clusters Day
This week, The Cooper School celebrated their very last Clusters Day. Students from each grade level met up for the final lunch with students from each grade level, to share Marco’s pizza and some fun! Students celebrated our very last Clusters Day by preparing for Field Day. In groups, students brainstormed team names and worked on posters to show their spirit for our last day of school!
