Community Connections

The past week has been filled with opportunities for First Graders to build connections within The Cooper School community and beyond through Reading Buddies, Cooper Clusters, and Drama classes with Charleston Stage.

Reading Buddies

First Graders were partnered with Middle School students to read together in the backyard. First Graders practiced reading aloud to their buddies and enjoyed connecting with older members of the campus community. We are excited to continue this special tradition throughout the year!

Cooper Clusters

On Thursday, we had our very first Cooper Clusters lunch of the year. These mixed grade groups connect students from each grade K-8th to play fun games and make new friends! At the end of the year students will be teamed up with their Clusters group for Field Day.

Drama with Charleston Stage

Actors from the Dock Street Theater came to campus this week to teach our students fun interactive and improvisational games. We loved seeing our young performers’ creativity shine!
