Creative Kindergarteners

Creating Our Kindergarten House Rules
Kindergarteners started their week off by reviewing and then putting our classroom rules onto paper. Students discussed the importance of ONE voice in our classroom, taking care of our materials and each other, as well as using kind words and gentle hands. Kindergarten spent the week practicing their mastery of our classroom rules and applying them in every aspect of their day!

Math
This week, Kindergarteners were invited to join Mabel the Elephant’s, our class mascot, tea party! For Mabel’s party, students were asked to examine visual patterns to match teacups and saucers. Each tea party item was designed with exciting colors and patterns used to find perfect matches, and in some cases, similar but different patterns. Kindergarteners were so excited to join their elephant friend for delicious tea.

Drama
Students were excited to have a visit this week from Charleston Stage. Kindergarteners spent the week with Mr. Jesse discussing everyday heroes that don’t wear capes! Through several creative and dramatic activities, students analyzed different careers that make a difference in our community! Kindergarteners loved discussing all they knew about police officers, firemen, teachers, farmers and many more different careers. Students also had tons of fun learning all about their actors’ tools, including their voice, body, and imagination!
