Elephants, Tigers, Pandas, Oh My…!

Math

In math this week, we wrapped up our Multiplication Properties Module and now we are ready to dive right into our Multiplication and Area Module! We began Area by investigating the area of 2D shapes including understanding what the area is referring to, and how we measure area using square units.

Reading

This week in reading, we are becoming experts on Asian Animals. Our new unit has us breaking into research groups to learn all about elephants, tigers, and panda bears. This unit pairs perfectly with our Social Studies investigations into China. We are so excited to learn all there is to know about these wonderful animals!

Social Studies

We have been master researchers this week as we learn all about the Who, What, When, Where, and How of our China Topics! We also investigated how something becomes important to a culture. Students were so curious and thoughtful about what makes cultures different, and how they value different things! Students created and decorated their very own Chinese Lanterns this week to go along with our continued investigations into culture.
