We embrace a holistic approach to learning, recognizing that education extends beyond the classroom walls. Parents and guardians are valued partners in this journey, and their involvement in all aspects of their child’s education is strongly encouraged. From volunteering on campus to attending school events and engaging in open dialogue with teachers, we believe in creating a collaborative environment where every member feels empowered. At TCS, we view parents as essential allies in fostering a love for learning and nurturing the growth of each student.

Guidelines for Parents & Families
As a diverse and inclusive community, The Cooper School supports each family’s holy days and celebrations. Our guiding principle is that students and their families should be able to celebrate holy days without feeling unduly burdened with assignments upon return to school.
All students are required to follow The Cooper School Dress Code every day. Requiring dress code/uniforms encourages distinctions of character and personality instead of appearance, simplifies dressing and reduces peer pressure and social stigmas, equalizes economic diversity, and enhances school spirit.
Birthday celebrations are an important event in Elementary School at The Cooper School. Students will walk around a model of the sun, holding the globe to represent each year of life. As the student walks, a parent or teacher will tell a story about the child’s life. The birthday child can then share a special treat with the class. Please make sure these treats are peanut free. The celebration ends with compliments for the birthday child from his or her classmates.
Grades K-2 do not have formal homework. Teachers will provide daily or weekly homework that extends and enriches class work. This homework is optional. Students in grades 3-8 are required to complete homework each night. Homework should not exceed 60 minutes for Elementary students and 75 minutes for Middle School students.
