Final Units in 4th Grade

Poetry Muse

4th grade has moved on to the slideshow and presentation portion of their project. As they gather more biographical information, they are organizing it into presentation form. Last week they learned how to add and edit a text box, insert images, and change their font size and type. This week they learned the fun stuff, like transitions! Then they presented it to 3rd Grade this afternoon.

Math

This week, 4th grade started their last Math unit over properties of 2-D shapes. They will start by analyzing similar and different characteristics of shapes, then they will move into symmetry. Finally, they will learn how to find the perimeter of non-traditional 2-D shapes.

Social Studies

Our historians started their final social studies unit this week as well. They are studying the culture and history of Cherokee tribes. They will learn about the 7 different clans and their roles in the tribe. Then, they will also start reading a historical fiction book written by a native woman, describing a child’s journey through the Trail of Tears.
