Finishing Out Strong!

End-of-Year

Today marks the last Friday of the school year! Third Graders have worked so hard and grown so much this school year despite the odd circumstances. We’re so excited to wrap up this school year and look forward to our last few days of school and Summer!

Reading/Writing

Writers ended our fairy tale unit by creating comic strips of a scene from either their adapted fairy tale or their original fairy tale! Writers found that it was a bit of a challenge to take a scene and convert it down to just six frames! Another exciting thing that readers did this week was acting out Prince Cinders by Babette Cole. We used the book Prince Cinders to play a game of typewriter with each cohort!

Science

In Science this week, Scientists wrapped up their last science unit for the school year by creating water cycle trioramas and water cycle necklaces! Our water cycle necklaces highlighted all parts of the water cycle with different colored beads and shrinky dink labels for each part.

Reminder: Thursday, June 3rd is Field Day. Please have your Third Grader wear their athletic uniform. Field Day is also a half day with 11:30 dismissal which means there will be no Afterschool!

Important Dates:
May 31: Memorial Day- No School
