Insect Study

This week our scholars started a new science unit! For the next few weeks we will be learning all about insects. We had fun exploring the backyard searching for insects and their habitats. First Graders were ecstatic when they found a praying mantis! We are looking forward to all the tiny critters our scientists will discover.

Charleston Stage

We have had some lovely visitors in our classroom this week- The Charleston Stage Company! Our students have absolutely loved practicing their acting skills. Our school learned all about actor focus and our students have certainly loved using their actor voice. Our classroom has been buzzing with songs and silly character voices.

First Grade Writers

Our writers have been focusing on adding action to their stories. We’ve learned how important emotion and action are to creating an exciting story for our readers. We even practiced acting out our stories with partners to better recognize what parts of our stories we could add action words.
