Solids and Liquids

We have begun our third trimester with a Science unit on “Solids and Liquids.” In this unit, students are learning to identify and categorize different forms of matter by their properties. Scholars were so excited to learn about Solids, Liquids, and Gasses.  Ask your child all about the interesting facts they learned about Matter!

Lengths and Measurements

We are continuing to love our measurement unit!  This week, we worked on comparing length using the terms “shorter than” and “longer than” and comparing length using indirect comparisons.  Students were able to measure lengths of objects around our classroom using different length units. They then used those measurements to help compare the length of those objects. We will continue to explore measurement in the upcoming weeks! 

Persistence

This trimester we have also launched our Social Emotional Learning unit on “Persistence”. This week we discussed how a part of being persistent is being able to problem solve. Our scholars brainstormed a list of the tools we have to problem solve and identified what they felt were the most important factors to problem solving efficiently. We are proud to hear how our independent learners are finding ways to be persistent.
