Getting into the Swing of Things!

Specials

As we finish up our second full week of school, Fourth Graders have now had time to enjoy all of our specials more than once and maybe even decide on which one is their favorite. This week, students have enjoyed learning new chords on our ukuleles, centering our minds in Yoga, and continuing our self-portraits and free drawing in Art!

Math

Today, students took their first math assessment of the year. Now we’re looking forward to moving into our next math module which is Fraction Equivalence and Comparison. Parents, be on the lookout for a Family Letter with information regarding our new unit, as well as ways you can support the growth of your student at home! This letter will be sent home on Monday.

Reading:

Readers have enjoyed looking for major character shifts and intense moments in their just right books this week! Students have been keeping track of these moments by sticking a sticky note whenever they read over the moment.  They’ve been working hard to identify big and small changes that they notice in their character’s personality as well!

Important Dates:

  • September 6: Labor Day(No School)
  • September 22: Virtual Curriculum Night
