Have a Fantastic Winter Break!

Fourth Grade authors have been hard at work on their Information Books. These books will be four chapters long, covering the American Revolution, a subtopic of their choice, and other supporting details/events. Students have learned how to use books and computers to research their topics and take key notes to help them write each chapter. So many of them have enjoyed getting to write such exciting books on topics they are genuinely interested in. We can’t wait to see their final products!

As we move into the Holidays and Winter Break, our new SEL unit about empathy is on everyone’s minds. So far, we have learned that empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. Fourth Grade is now practicing the 5 levels needed to develop empathy, which are watch & listen, remember, imagine, ask, and show you care. We hope students continue showing empathy over the break and into the new year!

Winter Extravaganza

For the past few weeks, Miss Julisa has been teaching Fourth Grade all about the traditions, food and meaning of Las Posadas. We had the honor of showcasing these topics to the rest of the school and parents during the Winter Extravaganza with our gift bag decorating station. We loved to see everyone in their PJ’s and hope everyone enjoyed the celebration!
